During your visit to get your CEREC crown, Dr. Eng will first prepare your tooth by removing any decay or damaged parts of the tooth and then shaping the tooth to make room for the crown. Then, a state-of-the-art 3D scanning digital camera will be used to create a digital optical impression. With this impression, there is no need for the traditional physical impressions using bulky mouth trays and goopy pastes.
Dr. Eng will then employ CEREC’s powerful CAD/CAM digital design software, to virtually create your restoration so it will be custom fitted to your tooth and bite. Once the design is completed, the virtual crown will then be wirelessly sent over to our in-house CEREC CNC milling machine to be fabricated. The entire crown-making process that traditionally took multiple visits can now be finished in one visit. Once the crown is ready, Dr. Eng will try it on, make sure it fits properly and that you are satisfied. Once that is done, your crown will be glazed and bonded into place.
